  1. When was club founded?
    February 1961 We are 56 years young. We are affiliated with the American Federation of Mineralogical Societies and the Midwest Federation of Geological and Mineralogical Societies.
  2. Status? Status?
    We are a non-profit club that is incorporated in the State of Illinois.
  3. Major events?
    Club anniversary and potluck dinner if February. Annual Gem & Mineral Show the second weekend in April usually. Club picnic and silent auction in September or October.
  1. What are the club interests?
    We are interested in all areas of the Earth Sciences. Including Geology, Mineralogy, Paleontology, Archeology. Lapidary Arts and Nature in general.
  2. Activities?
    We hove field trips for CLUB members. Monthly meetings with invited speakers and hobby related programs. Of course our annual Gem & Mineral Show - our big event!
  3. Where and when do you meet?
    The basement of the Benton Community Center 226 Main St. in Benton. Il just north of the town square on State Route 37. Parking in rear of the building. We meet the first Thursday of the month and meetings start around 7 p.m. We do cancel for severe weather. The building has a handicap ramp.
